Lamai Beach is a long Koh Samui beach for relaxed swimming, sunbathing, and easy beach time with bars and restaurants close at hand. It’s generally calmer than Chaweng, with fine white sand, a mostly sandy bottom, and walk-in convenience from the Lamai area. Expect some rougher water and bigger waves at times, and don’t come here for snorkeling. Parking is free if you can find it, but easier on bikes.
